Problem/Inquiry
As their business in the area grew, Havwoods USA needed additional storage space for their growing inventory. Operating out of a roughly 18,000 square foot facility, there was not much room for all of the inventory that they needed to store. They needed to maximize storage space while staying compliant with all local code requirements.
Solution
Mezzanine Distributors worked with Havwoods USA’s local operations manager to come up with a layout that would support their business and maximize storage space. Due to many different SKU’s being stored, a selective pallet rack system was required. A design with almost 1,500 pallet positions was eventually accepted by Havwoods USA. With a significant amount of inventory already on site, the installation was going to have to be performed in two phases. This was partially because of code inspections that needed to be performed. Mezzanine Distributors completed the first half of the installation and then coordinated with local inspectors to inspect the work. Once approved, Havwoods USA was able to load the racks with their inventory. This freed up much needed floor space and allowed us to return to complete the second part of the installation. Mezzanine Distributors procured materials, coordinated shipping, installed all materials and filed for all permits and inspections necessary.
