 Customer Description

Rock West Composites is a fabricator of customized composite tubes, plates, rods, angles, shapes, and connectors and their complimentary products. Their facilities feature extensive fabrication equipment and they can find the most efficient and effective methods to manufacture a number of customized products.

 Problem/Inquiry

Rock West was looking to add storage space in their existing 30,000 square foot engineering and manufacturing space. They did not have room for a building addition and they did not wish to relocate their entire operation because it is also home to their corporate offices.

 Solution

Mezzanine Distributors and Rock West Composites worked on a design that would fit their needs and space. The mezzanine would be erected between two overhead doors in the facility so making sure space was maximized while not interfering with door traffic was important. A roughly 20′ x 20′, 400 square foot mezzanine was designed and approved. This design included a straight staircase, handrail on three sides, and a custom 5’9″ sliding gate. The handrails were also painted safety yellow per the customer’s request. After a site visit was conducted to confirm on-site dimensions, materials were ordered. After fabrication of the materials was completed, shipping was arranged and the materials were received on site and installed by one of Mezzanine Distributors’ professional installation crews.
