 Customer Description

Our customer is an industry leader in the design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation of custom facade systems. Their modern manufacturing technologies meet industry-tested design expertise at the forefront of architectural innovation.

 Problem/Inquiry

Our customer had two main challenges. First, their business has continued to grow which has required them to store more raw material as they increase production. Their main manufacturing facility needed to optimize space for manufacturing over the need for material storage. The second challenge was in regards to their offsite material storage for both raw materials and finished goods. They had a few offsite warehouses so one of the things they wanted to do was to consolidate their offsite space into one main storage facility that would feed their main manufacturing facility. They also had some offsite warehouse space that they were paying very low rent on and their lease term was coming up so they needed to utilize the vertical height of a new space since their rent was going to be much higher than what they were paying before.

Lead time of material and implementation schedule was very important to our customer as they needed to get this warehouse up and running quickly so as not to affect their operations.

 Solution

While the customer chose to complete the design of the system on their own, we worked with them to arrive at an acceptable price and lead time for all of the materials involved as well as a full, turnkey installation of the system. We were able to complete fabrication of all components in a very short time (4-5 weeks) and arrange for shipment to the job site and installation soon after that.

The customer also requested custom colors to match other systems in the facility and the building structural steel itself. We were able to provide these custom gray and yellow colors with minimal impact to the overall schedule of the project.

Our project manager and our installation team worked with the customer to coordinate receipt of materials and install the system in a facility that was already storing both raw materials and finished goods.

We also supplied PE stamped drawings for the system that our customer utilized to secure all necessary permits.

As in any construction or expansion project, two of the biggest factors of the overall project are maintaining the agreed upon price and completing the project on schedule. These were both accomplished on this project, as is standard for Mezzanine Distributors.
