 Customer Description

Our customer is an industry leader in the design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation of custom facade systems. Their modern manufacturing technologies meet industry-tested design expertise at the forefront of architectural innovation.

 Problem/Inquiry

As their business was growing at an extraordinary pace, our customer needed more space for raw material storage. They did not have any more floor space and utilizing a different facility did not make sense from a logistical perspective.

 Solution

Our team worked with the customer to design and engineer a roughly 3,000 square foot mezzanine. The mezzanine would provide the extra space to the customer for their material storage while allowing for production to still continue below the mezzanine. An LED lighting system was designed so that there would be sufficient lighting for all work below the mezzanine. An NFPA-compliant fire sprinkler system was designed in order to meet all local codes.

In order to transport the customer's raw material, which is stored on carts, from the floor to the mezzanine level, a 10' x 10' vertical reciprocating conveyor was implemented into the design. The VRC sits in a pit which was constructed by Mezzanine Distributors. In addition to pit construction, nine concrete footers were designed, engineered, and installed by our team.

The mezzanine was painted a custom white color that matched the customer's facility and their existing mezzanine. The new mezzanine also connected to the existing mezzanine, at the customer's request.

To provide a fully turnkey project, Mezzanine Distributors took care of all permits as well as all inspections, including for the lighting system and the fire sprinkler system.

From start to finish, the customer was able to work with one contractor and the entire project was delivered to them at the agreed upon price and schedule.
