Customer Description

Our customer is an engineering and construction company serving industrial clients (airport, automotive, food & beverage, parcel, postal, heavy industrial) throughout the United States and internationally.

 Problem/Inquiry

As part of a full, integrated build-out for one of their distribution clients, our customer needed a fully designed and engineered steel support structure delivered to their client’s facility. This structure would support a sorter conveyor system and would also support the client’s gravity load lanes that would bring packages to specific dock doors for shipment.

 Solution

Mezzanine Distributors worked together with our customer to design a structure that would work with their overall building and material handling design. This structure was fully engineered by the Mezzanine Distributors team and was then fabricated and shipped to the job site so our customer could begin installation.

Our scope and installed structure included the following:

• Fully designed and engineered steel structure with Colorado PE Stamped Drawings
• Approximately 10,000 square feet of decked support structure plus a gravity support structure
• All aspects of structure designed per customer specifications including: bar grating flooring, handrail, area and point loads, staircases, and paint finishes

Mezzanine Distributors formed a virtual team between ourselves, our production facility, the customer and their installation team in order to coordinate the delivery of the various components so that these arrived based on the site's scheduling needs and install expectations. This communication and coordination led to materials being delivered on time and on budget so that our customer could complete this project in accordance with their overall project timeline.

For integrators, the design, engineering, fabrication, and shipment to the job site of the steel support structures are incredibly time sensitive. As these are the first pieces of the puzzle, all other scheduling and timelines hinge on the contractor providing these materials on time. We were successful in ensuring that this happened and this is our top priority, along with a competitive price and competitive product quality, on any similar project.
