U.S. Lumber is the leading distributor of specialty building materials in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic United States. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, the company operates nine different branches from Boston, MA to Central Florida. Their customer base is made up of 3,500 local lumber yards and building supply dealers who in turn serve the professional remodelers and home builders in their local communities.
Problem/Inquiry
U.S. Lumber was taking over a facility with more than 250,000 square feet of warehouse space for their Maryland operations. The previous tenants had left a significant amount of pallet racking in the building, however it was all torn down and stored in an area of the warehouse. They needed a reliable contractor to provide labor services to put up the rack, as well as supply any additional materials that may have been needed.
Solution
After a few smaller projects with U.S. Lumber at their previous facility, Mezzanine Distributors was selected as the contractor of choice for their new facility. Over the course of several months, we worked with U.S. Lumber to install their pallet racking as well as supply materials needed, including wire decks and M-dividers. Due to U.S. Lumber’s operations, we coordinated our installations to provide them with the needed storage on their terms. After their initial move into the building, we have been back to install more of the racking as they have grown.
