Pallet Racking Systems

Effective pallet and product storage accomplishes a number of things. When you invest in your storage systems and work to find the best solution, your operations run smoother, you save money on labor and inventory storage costs, your facility is safer, and, perhaps most importantly, you serve your customers better. When you need to organize pallets of products, the right racking system for these pallets makes a monumental difference. Here are some popular racking systems Mezzanine Distributors can provide.

Cantilever Racking Systems

These systems are used for materials such as lumber, plywood, drywall, steel, and any product that is large, bulky, oddly shaped, or just too clumsy to store. They can’t be palletized and need a horizontal system to assist with organization and picking. Cantilever systems can be easily customized just like other pallet racking systems to accommodate different sizes and quantities of products. They are easily adjusted and reconfigured, can be built as high as your logistics machinery, can safely lift your products, and can be customized to your exact needs.

Pushback Racking

The purpose of pushback racking is to increase storage density and use as much warehouse space as possible. A pushback pallet racking system uses gravity to move pallets on nested carts that move along inclined rails. A forklift pushes a stacked pallet into the rack to stack it. When it comes time to pick a pallet, the first one is removed and the pallets stacked behind it move down to the front. Pushback racking is a high-density storage system and makes efficient use of limited warehouse space. It allows your facility to use last in, first out inventory systems. Also, pushback racking systems are compatible with your existing forklifts and require no specialized pallets.

Pallet Flow Rack

This system uses metal rollers and gravity to feed pallets to the front of the system, where they are unloaded. Like pushback racking systems, they make use of limited space but allow you to organize them a bit differently. Pallet flow racking easily supports first in, first out inventory systems.

Carton Flow Rack

Similar to gravity flow pallet systems, carton flow pallet rack systems use gravity to flow cartons and boxes down rollers. They are ideal for warehouses that have a high volume of products to move and pick daily. They lower labor costs, help reduce product damage, reduce storage space usage, and are compatible with existing racking.
