Mezzanine Distributors Is Your Project Management Expert

When your facility needs additional floor space, think vertically, not horizontally. Building expansion can be costly, time-consuming, and may not even be possible if you’re leasing your space. A logical, cost-effective solution is a mezzanine that allows you to make better use of space and still remain within your building’s footprint. A mezzanine can take advantage of all the unused vertical space in your building; space that can easily be used for storage, in-plant office space, or to house and protect specialized equipment.

Many facilities can avoid relocation or costly building expansion by better using their existing footprints. Building a mezzanine is easier with a partner experienced in designing and installing them. This is where Mezzanine Distributors can provide the most value for your business. A proper mezzanine must be designed with your interests in mind—your budget, space restrictions, whether you will need specialized equipment, or if you want to expand your office space. You will need to procure the right materials for your mezzanine and have them delivered on time. And, finally, the mezzanine will need to be installed and tested by professionals.

Design

All facilities are unique, and every business has different needs. The design phase takes all of these different attributes and needs into account:

Purpose – What will the mezzanine be used for? Why is it being built in the first place? The purpose of the mezzanine will define what materials should be purchased and how the structure will be installed.

Loading – It is vitally important to determine and measure what will be placed on the mezzanine. Office space doesn’t need as much support as materials storage or specialized heavy machinery. Along with determining available space and height requirements, it’s important to find out if your slab floor has the capacity for a mezzanine.

Headroom and access – We will need to measure the available space for your mezzanine to make sure there’s enough headroom above and below the mezzanine surface.

Surface and other materials – Your choice of materials and deck surface is important depending on what the mezzanine is used for, whether the environment is wet or dry, and the range of temperatures the material will have to endure.

Permissions – We will check with local planning and zoning boards and review the terms of your lease if you are renting your warehouse, to ensure you have the necessary permissions. A mezzanine is usually considered a temporary structure, but before any materials are procured or any footers placed, we need to make sure you are allowed to build.

Your budget – The cost of your mezzanine will depend on all of the above factors but, overall, a mezzanine provides great value for the money. We will make sure you get the most value for your budgeted resources.

Material Procurement

Once the design is in place, Mezzanine Distributors will procure the best possible materials for your project. We have relationships with quality mezzanine fabricators who can supply any necessary materials. We can also find equipment that’s compatible with existing mezzanine structures.

Once the materials are procured, we will arrange for delivery and temporary storage on the jobsite. This will be done with minimal disruption to your day-to-day operations. We will handle any specialized machinery or customization of the jobsite to accommodate your mezzanine.

Installation

Installation can take place over a weekend or through a phased approach; the choice and control are entirely up to you. We work to have your mezzanine installed as quickly as possible to reduce downtime, but we also recognize the critical importance of safety and testing.

Our aim is your total satisfaction, which is why we handle all aspects of the mezzanine installation. If your facility could benefit from a mezzanine, call Mezzanine Distributors. We have the knowledge and experience to make sure your project is completed with minimal hassle and expense.
